The Tuatara store and gallery is in central Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand (Aotearoa). The shop opened in 2004, has become Northlands major outlet and showcase for local artists and is a collection of gorgeous things- a testament to the cleverness of our fabulous artists and an expression of our stunning country. Tuatara aims to have the most diverse & eclectic selection of the most beautiful things in New Zealand; especially those that reflect Aotearoa & the Pacific. Traditional taonga (Maori treasures) sit alongside the best of contemporary NZ art & design as well as a handpicked selection of kiwiana kitsch & classic souvenirs. Proud to be a Toi Iho licensed stockist, the Maori Made Trademark is a registered trademark that signifies authenticity & quality for maori Arts & Crafts.  Open Mon-Fri 9.30am-5pm, Sat 9am-2.30pm, Sun (Summer only) 10am– 4pm.
