The Quarry Arts Centre is run by the Northland Craft Trust; we are a community art centre offering a supportive, unique, dynamic space that is dedicated to the pursuit and development of creative practice.
Nestled into the bush clad hills only 5 minutes walk from central Whangarei the Quarry Arts Centre offers a brilliant venue of craggy rock faces and open meadow spaces open to the public 7 days. Visitors can stroll through the sculpture filled grounds, see resident artists in their studios, find inspiration and soak up the ambiance of this unique local treasure.
One of the primary purposes of the Quarry Arts Centre is to offer a platform to display the talents of local artisans though in though the Yvonne Rust Gallery and Rust Ramble. High quality art works can be purchased directly from artists though the Yvonne Rust Gallery, Quarry Co-op Shop or directly from the onsite artist studios.
In keeping with the mission of nurturing the creative spirit of Northland the Quarry Arts Centre regularly hosts workshops for both adults and children covering a variety of methods and media. These workshops can be absolutely anything if people are interested in learning it the Quarry Arts Centre will organise the workshops.
