About this activity

Mount Manaia towers 460 metres above the harbour entrance - its dramatic rock peaks are steeped in Maori legend.  A one hour steep climb through beautiful native bush is rewarded with spectacular coastal and harbour views including the Hen and Chicken Islands.  There is an alternative route from the summit for above average fitness.  Entrance to the well maintained tracks is from the Early Settlers Memorial on Whangarei Heads Road.
