Burning Issues Gallery in Whangarei’s Town Basin specialises in contemporary New Zealand handcrafted glass, ceramics and jewellery by Northland artists. Also stocked are selected high quality turned wood pieces and contemporary paintings and prints by local artists.

On most days, visitors can watch glass blowers engaged in the intriguing process of hand blowing glass in the Mahy Hot Glass Studio.
Well known cast glass artist Shona Firman can also often be seen making her distinctive cast glass works. There is a viewing platform between the gallery and the studio so visitors can get a good view of the process.

Burning Issues takes pride in promoting the work of Northland artists and craft people and is situated in Whangareï‘s Town Basin area.
